African mahogany 300cm x 120cm x 10cm

A collaboration with Joshua Ram. This massive giant slab weighing slightly over 300kg was brought to us to be used as a dining table top. To stablise the slab, we added 5 inlay bars to the bottom and a total of 22 butterfly keys were inlaid by hand to arrest any further cracks in the wood. Epoxy was also added to fill the gaps between the 2 main branches of the tree which had long fused into the trunk.
